This chapter contains photographs and instructions for each of the postures in the Primary Series in the correct order. For every pose I have suggested one or more modifications that you may like to try if the classical pose is too difficult. The series is divided into four parts.The sun salutations are both the warm-up and the core of the practice as they appear in the form of vinyasa throughout the series. Standing postures develop stamina and stability Seated postures deepen the practice, and fine tune the body and mind.The fourth and finishing sequence is used to restore balance and harmony at the end of the practice. For your ease of reference I have also given the whole series in sequence in thumbnail-sized pictures on pages 122-129. In addition, I have suggested a sort practice for beignners and another which can be done by people of all levels to make a balanced 40-50 minute practice when you don't have time to do the whole seires Plase make sure that you read chaptrs 3 and 4 before starting any practice in this book,. They give you the background information that you need to do the practice.
